it depends on what you like......
i chose anesthesia over optha for the following reasons- it offers a very broad range of practice opportunities like working in nursing homes, working in big hospitals, working in ICUs, etc. also it needs zero investment which worked well with me. I donot have a family member who would be supportive of my business etc. And i didnt wish to start anything on my own..... And the learning curve is not that long, i didnt wish to waste time on working on my surgical skills and i did not think that 3 years of optha training would be enough. in anesthesia you may start practicing from day one. and the money is not bad (of course you will earn a lot more in optha)
advantages of optha would be no night calls with a 9-5 job which is suited for anybody (i wnt say gals because i think its true for anybody). anesthesia on the other hand can be very tiring.
if you are inclined towards setting up your own set up and if you enjoy doing surgery... then obviously opth would be the one for you. its your call........ donot think in terms of short term goals, think in terms of what you wish to do in future and you get your answer

for girls.. i shud think ms opthalmo is a better option as compared to Anaesthesia .
i m a major anesthesia fan but if u want a sttled family life, go for ophthal. anesthesia is a pretty stressing job with no work hours...

Its true that for anesthesia the job is 24X7. with optha...... there is very little chance of night calls, etc

hi nidhi da hs got pretty gud scope..if u can afford to do DNB tats gud ..but alone da is bettr if u get a gud hospital..m doin md at reputed hospital lots of loads ..dere is no difference if u learn and do work in OT REGULARILY........
