In acute suppurative otititis media there is absorption of O2 in tympanic cavity, leads to the decrease in the pressure of the cavity .wich cells absorb this O2 ? & O2 is about 20.93% only in the atmosphere. Why there is reduction in pressure taken place ?

If there is infection if aerobic bacterias than there will be the necessity of O2 for their survival. So that I thought there is probably the absorptin of O2 only . & if whole air is absorbed then where it goes ?

hey u sound raw.......... u r fresh from ant phys biochem i think. let me tell you this is called second yr syndrome where in people try to reason out everythingh they see and it characteristically wanes off by 5th sem only to give rise to third yr syndrome...........its good if you can retain this reasoning but it helps only if you opt for research and i am afraid you ill be unfit for indian hospital set up.........
then the answer:

what basically happens in asom is as you said there is all sorts of infection ......... but the catch is inflammation and edema of mucosa which alter the permeability of vessel walls and there gases get sucked in due to negative pressure prevailing in the middle ear as tube is blocked.
