welcome members of this world's most and the largest active medical community website . Russian medical education and its pros and cons and its issues are not new to most of us , still due to the availability of various type of informations around the corner members are left in a huge confusion about which to believe and which not to , this became the prime reason to create a separate forum for Russian medical graduates and the students who aim for the Russian medical degree .
every day i keep getting infos from various friends that Russian graduates are working in large number in various nation such as Australia
, New Zealand
, Middle East , Canada
, Untied States , United Kingdom , various European nations and in many Asian nations .
so this thread has been started on the primary aim that present and future Russian medical graduates should get a strong and concrete infos about opportunities for Russian medical graduates abroad .
regards
pearllysun - RxPG forum moderator .

Pearlly, I appreciate you making this thread. We have seen loads of info on other aspects, but not much on the Russian Medical Graduate and his/her opportunities. I hope we can contribute alot to this thread, and this thread in turn will give a viable view point to everyone who seeks a Russian Medical Degree, or who already has one.
Lastly, there are loads of opportunities, only if you work hard enough and push your limits.

Ok, I am a 5th year student at the Russian State Medical University. I came here by MY choice. Now you may think why i stressed this point. It is because many people who come here are forced against their wills to become Doctors. I can name more than a dozen of cases where this has gone horribly wrong. Seriously! Peer pressure, parent pressure are all things that NEGATIVELY affects your studies because you are 1000's of kilometers away from home and no one is there to hold your hands and give you hugs.
Also neg factors are,
A. Many people are for the first time leaving their sheltered lives with their parents [Me included]
B. Alien Culture and language
C. Alien Food [ seriously, tastes bad, though its nutritious and healthy ]
D. Depressing stories [All seniors say bad stories on the first day. Dont know why they dont have the common sense not to encourage their Juniours.]
E. You feel like you are really on Mars by 1 month because many of the friends you thought you had might rip you off. [Its a dog's world there so dont come naive thinking all are good people here]
Make NO mistake, its very difficult to survive the first years.
So is it worth it?????
YOU BET! I would do it all over if i had to.
Why?
A. Great education, good price. [Personal viewpoint, since i never studied in an Indian medical college and cant therefore compare it to Russia
. Lets just say if you study you are as good as the other doctor.]
B. Great Country. Its beautiful, its modern and traditional places, its lush greens [in April to October] Overall i liked it Learning and living with other cultures is a fascinating experiance! Sure there are skin heads, but i was saved by an anti-fa [anti fascist] so i cant really complain.
C. Self development. Its great to be in a different country. India lacks 1 important thing, exposure to other people. We live in a society that teaches whatever it does and says is the right thing. That poisons us like methanol to be blind to anything else. You can see objectively whats right and wrong in your mentality once you are here.
D. Confidence: You get through till graduation, you did it all by your self. And that says a lot! Seriously, you are prepared to survive worst come to worst. Your a man/woman!
