Hi
I am doctor, done my post graduation and done PDCR course from Catalyst Clinical Services and right now working in CRO as Manager - Clinical Research. There are lot of oppurtunities in clinical trials right now for doctors and it will be boom in coming time and there is lot of shortage for skilled person.

There is a course Professional Diploma in Clinical Research (PDCR) offered by Catalyst Clinical Services Pvt. Ltd, Delhi. The course fee is Rs. 6200 for a Distance Learning programme of 6 months.

1. Introduction to Pharmaceutical medicine
2. GCP Foundation
3. Drug Regulatory Affairs
4. Roles and Resposibilities of Clinical Trial Personnel

It is a 6 month Distance programme & fees is Rs 6200.

well i am sure someone else will hep you out as well. dr.danger, but i would like to put in my opinions.
About jobs opportunities, well the current reports say that those are ample. I am not sure about reality. But i guess out of India, like in USA, there are ample opportunities for scientist physicians, but if you get educated in USA in clinical research.
There are many jobs related to clinical research, and you may get employed by hospitals, or pharma companies, or labs or even government organisations. I think you need to google a bit about that. I will try finding out more.

About pay, i guess it depends upon your experience, your employer and the country you get employed in.
But for now i know that clinical research is in, if you are really interested in it. You can't go in it just for the money.
