Hello Nepal P.G aspirants,
Throughout the past 5 pages there has been a discussion going on about the so called advantages about the Nepal P.G scene. Can some one please highlight me the plus points about a P.G from Nepal.
I know a lot of negative points like
- no MCI recognition
- anti-indian sentiment
- Nepali as the language of communication with patients. Which if not known
could land u in serious trouble.
- the political situation in Nepal
Can anyone pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassssseeeeeeeeee give me sme good reason to do a P.G in Nepal.
Looking forward to a reply as this will definately help us all!!!
Ciao!

i agree with u about DNB
being definitely better and nobody who even has a slightest chance of getting a degree in india wud think of going there.... but wen there's no option then???? u know how difficult it is to geta DNB
seat.. and as people said in earlier views they have gud infrastucture... and security shud not be a problem as people who've studied in nepal will let us know... we can always take a chance... also many colleges here also do not give a recognized degree... so pls post ur views here for the max benefit of students who think of going there if given a chance... also i request people who are studying in nepal at the moment pls put ur views forward as u r in the place at the moment and can know things better than us here...

PG in Nepal

too much fuss going around the Pg in Nepal, so i think i will try to clarify them as much as i can.
i have recently graduated from BPKIHS,Dharan.
the PG program in BPKIHS is not yet recognized by MCI, but recently an inspection team had visited and as hinted by them few dept will get recognition, like surgery, orthopaedics
, Gynae
,anesthesia etc.
there is even quota for the saarc students and all are filled by indian student.
actually i would suggest those who are desperately seeking surgery to apply for BPKIHS or IOM, because they have great exposure since first year, i did 4 appendectomies in my internship, assisted more than 15 cesareans, hydrocel, hernias, minors u do so many u dont even write them in your log book.anyways
and about the strong anti indian thing, yes i agree there is anti indian feeling much more in kathmandu then in dharan, in BPKIOHS, even nepalis speak hindi, i am nepali but my best friend was an indian, we had 17 indian in our batch, now in mbbs ther eare more than 40 in each batch.
and lots of them in senior resident and faculty posts, many faculty from inda are very senior professors from top colleges in India.
and dharan bazar, every one will speak with you in hindi, even the auto wala, there is the indian embassy's pension paying post with a major styationed there. so no need to be worried.
i personaly think BPKIHS is the best place to do PG for SUrgical field and few others,
think about it do you want to do surgeries only after u become senior residents or from early on, SR from india when they first came to our college did nt know even how to do appendicitis which only the interns do le talone the damn complicated ones.
so think about it
any queries contact me

The PG entrance exam at IOM is going to be conducted very soon...probably within this month as soon as they get over with their elections there.
The seats for Indians are paid there, and your subject choice will again depend on ur rank in the merit list. The exam pattern is based on mcq and is relatively of an easy standard, as the competition is much lesser.
You could check out rest of the information on their official website.
