Hey Siya n everyone
I am sorry as I perhaps haven't replied yet, lill' busy.
Well here are my credential :
Step 1- 94
step 2 -99
CS passed ( 1 attempt) - result received 10 sept.
Step 3 - not written
No USCE, Only Indian LORs.
Not a fresh grad, passed out in 2004 , was working here but no MD from India .
Still I matched with my 2nd choice ( out of 6) , so I do believe its doable..
Also , as per me , scores get you interviews.
if u have some -ve in ur profile u would be excluded in 1st round, i.e. those who are counting a certain thing as -ve will not call u.
Those who have called you, like you . Wheather they decide to take you or not totally depends on ur interview.
(Of course there are many factors which are beyond our control, like other's performance, programs selection list of interviewees n so on, I m talking about the factors that u can control )
Good Luck.
AJ

To add to my previous post..
I hd applied only in peds as thats what I want to do and I think this would apply to IM and FM as well. But if you are planning to go into a more competetive speciality for IMGs obviously you would need more on your CV..

Hey siyaa,
Well I know that IMGs apply in paths and they do get it. one of my friends had applied but then she had applied in peds, IM, psch and paths. Eventually got IM ( As she wanted to stay in one particular town where her husband was, location was her priority rather than subj ).
I am sorry as I don't know anyone directly who is doing paths, but its perhaps not as complicated as radio, derm or orthopaedics
.. its more in league of IM, Peds, psch etc...
good luck

In such cases , I am very sure candidate must have outscored in interview as well.In North America , as i see system here , bad intreview itself can nullify even a substantial body of your work /and good one can make up for average score profile too(my presumption after hearing so many types of matchings and rejections).

No one came up with a detailed matching experience, including all do's and don'ts.
Would have been really helpful.
