I will continue a little bit more and I think this should be enough:
A good portion of IMG know the statement: communication is more important than knowledge.
The majority understand that the right way, but a small portion misunderstand it.
This small number of IMG are intelligent, nice, hard workers who start working in their residencies with great optimism, devotion, who focus on their job, who read eagrly, who come from very good families, and are very polite.
But unless all their supervisors and coworkers are very nice-natured people, a number of those IMG are going to loose the battle, and get frustrated when being told: it was communication.
They will ask themselves why?: I was polite.
Well : communication means: office politics not just being polite.
and everybody can educate themselves(if they feel they need) with materials online.
I wanted to bring this up, because this forum should not be only on exams and scores but on communication as well and on what they call: canadian attitude.
somebody else educated me with this(and I am very thankful) so I thought I should share this with you.

I just figured out that I have not covered the most important:" [bleep] in the workplace"
this is going to be the centre of all possible troubles.
Learn how to identify a [bleep], how to deal with him/her (lots of online materials).
Learn how to be assertive:not agressive, not passive.
Learn to help the [bleep] person, not just stand-by from fear.
