hi frnds.. i finished internship july 06, basicallyi m from agriculture family..i want 2 do md gen. medicine, but my frnds n seniors sugested md gen med is not good presently... in the sense...after pg again md gen med people have 2 go for superspecialisation, my frnnds suggested me 22 choose md dermotolgy... is this good branch ?shll i get money like md gen medicine... my aim is i want earn more money in my life..in md gen med duties also hectic....i want enjoy my life....

u have to decide between money and enjoyment at this point of time.
if u want to enjoy.....for only next three years...take Dermatology .
if u want to earn and enjoy all ofur life.....take MD gen medicine.

ps - i am dermatologist and i love my branch a lot.....u need real brain to be dermatologist.....its not only steroids and sunscreens........its more than that if u use urknowledge.

I m a Dermatology resident in my final year residency in pune...in a very reputed college. it is a fascinating question ..M.D med vs M.D derm....

people might think anyways... But this is a fact that the earlier dermatologists have been thrown in to the branch because they could not get med... but now people take it by choice and make it big... I know a dermatologist making 50.000 a day ...can a med guy compete... please do not get biased by hypocrites (some in my own branch...those medicine drop outs). Take dermat and ENJOY ALL YOUR LIFE.

U mean we can't earn much in DERM when compared to GEN MED
how will be the pay
actully i am interested in GEN.MED but unluckily i won't get that so i am thinking of taking DERM
HOW will be the subject is there bundles of theory(microscopic) of coure in GEN.MED but can think &imagine,apply

plz.guide iwon't have much idea about DERM even in internship ihave not choosen it as optional becoz of some personal reason/work

how can u even compare md general medicine with Dermatology

GM commands lots of respect n if u open a small clinic its sufficient u hv so many diabetics n htn patients today tht u can happily relax n earn like hell

same can never b said abt Dermatology ,nowadays its a craze becoz now people want to relax but until u do cosmetology it wont fetch u anything
cosmetology courses run into lakhs for fellowships n moreover u need gud laser equipment for electrolysis ,i knw many dermatologists who sit idle coz of no cases,a dermatologist only who is famous will become rich

that is not the case with GM it is evergreen with plenty of job oppurtunities everyehere THINK ABT IT
