orkut is as safe... or as dangerous as the internet... anything and everything can happen... if one can stay clear of all the net related probs, then i dont think orkut should be a headache....
BE CAREFUL while online... thats the policy to follow!
personally, i love orkut very much... dont know why... i even tried myspace n facebook, but i still feel attached to orkut... may be because it helped me find my long lost friends... school friends, junior college friends... found help for my online queries in communities... its great...
i shall never stop ORKUTTING... n SCRAPPING!

Did you Copy Paste and Run a code(script) or click on an untrusted link(in scrapbook) while you are logged into orkut?
If you did, it must have been the code that opened the Popup window.
And it should be the same code that used your account to scrap all your friend with out your knowledge.
This script behaves like a virus. So there are chances that your account may be compromised.
Here is what you need to do as early as possible,
 Download and install this Free Anti-Spyware tool
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scan your PC in Safe mode (write these down in a paper)
* If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
* Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
* Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
* Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
* Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
* Open Ad-Aware 2007 and do a complete system scan.
* Restart your PC. (It will boot in normal mode)

Open orkut using a different browser than your usual. (firefox, opera)
Go to your account and change your password and change your alternate email account.
Use a strong password. Please don't use the names of your close friends or relatives. The password must be atleast 7 characters long, and if possible add numbers or symbols in the password.
(Dont forget to write down your password, else you may forget) |

sorry nancy but i beg to differ....i know of photos taken from locked albums by hackers and to make spam profiles....if u dont believe me do a random check for look for communities for hackers and go through the posts they have there!!! its very scary!!!
