Quick Scroll need some tips on coping with nervousness 04.30.08 (2 months ago) #1

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stay calm during the OSCE stations. Everytime I enter a room my mind just goes blank.

First and foremost, lets keep things in perspective: failing an OSCE is not the end of the world. Plus, you'd have a fail a LOT of stations to fail the whole thing!

Some people use beta-blockers to keep calm before an OSCE but frankly I think they're taking things a bit too seriously!

I think the best way to feel calm is to feel confident - so practice practice practice! Remember the examiner is human too and has probably made the odd mistake in their time.

Perspective is key to banishing those nerves.

Good luck!
