hey ausc....get to your senses man...ppl dont expect this of u...
And dont take too much of a pride if luck (and ur efforts of sendin applications which everyone does) have bestowed something upon you..dont be childish and boastful..

And this man bygaka did have his shortlisting and it didnt work out with his interview ..unlike u..and he is waitin for dbl ur time
And neither do u have membership (thats in view of u want to do surgery which req 6 month surg exp for MRCS1... )

So luck factor has its toll now....thats what i saw in my own shortlisting. when they called me for Psychiatry ...and in my own hosp when i was left ot for HO post with all the things above and more...

so buddy...the job situation is having its toll upon some ppl... without any of their fault... except the thing that there r too many of them...

And they have their right to share their views and opinions....
And thats the way this discussion board has always been...with an air of pessimism and caution.... and on being here, i do find that to be a ground reality.

I wld stop writing pessimism if u wld assure a job to everyone..ok 80% of post plabbers comin next year..
And regd myself, i am likely and hopeful of makin it with MRCP -1...BUT NOW EVERYONE IS AFTER MRCP -1..these things are just cuttin each others throat and cannot increase no. of jobs...all they can do is to increase frustration
... what bout ppl who wld come following us as role models...Letz tell them the truth...
i feel guilty cos i told my friends write PLAB ...and they will be comin next year...what do u do for it then....now write MRCP ....attend this course...do that..ok now go home....
will u agree to goin home after aug 2004.? thn how do u say ppl go back if unsucssful.

Ok.First-there is nothing wrong in being pessimistic, the problem with u is that u r over the top.
second-I absoloutely agree with u on the luck element.BUT y in god's name would there be a guarantee on getting a job per se in this place. As an indian, lets face it many of us came here for the money, the fact hat we couldnt get a seat in india or watever...but our presence here and for that matter passong PLAB is by no means an insurance for a job,It just means u r capable of applying...READ THE APPLICATION FORM CAREFULYY.

I am not being boastful or for that matter condescending.BUT we have to take it into consideration that getting a job is not by any means a birthright. There will be ups and downs, but the idea is to persist to the best of your abilities not at the expense of your abilities.
