Hello dada, how r u?
Let me introduce myself first. I just finished my final year xms few days ago. I cleared all my previous mbs in first go, but failed to clear surgery. So had to give the supple xm. My internship is going to start in few days.

I was a mediocre student. I haven't prepared for pg anything so far. My target is WBPGE 10 & AIPGE 10. Currently I just dont remember anything from my first year & remember very few of the next one. So u can consider me standing on zero. Does this supple is going to affect my apperance in pg xm anyway? I heard that u can't appear in pgi or AIIMS if u have any supple. Is this true?

I read the previous messages in this forum and got a gist of starting prep. The mcq books I gathered so far.... AAA,MK,Gupta-Tripathi & Zip CU.

Now, the books I read during in my mbbs courses....

Anatomy = Samar Mitra & AKD. Didn't read BDC. For embryology I read IBS, gen surgery from AKD. Will these suffice? What is BRS series?
Physiology = ABSM & little bit of Ganong
Biochem= Satyanarayan & genetics from Stryer. So, should I read Harper or move to Lippincott?
Patho= Harshmohan, I do own a copy of the middle Robbins.(but didnt read it)
Pharma= KDT
Micro= P Chakroborty, virology from Jawetz, parasitology from Bhatia. Will these suffice?
FSM= mostly neglected it. read just few days before the xm. Went through a notebook by SC Basu
Eye= Khurana (thoroughly)
ENT = Dhingra, SK Dey
PSM = Park
Surgery= Manipal, bits from Bailey & Love
orthopaedics = Maheswari. will it be enough?
Medicine= mostly various notes & Kumar & Clarke. I know I have to work a lot here. Do I need to read Davidson or Kumar-Clarke will be enough. I konw i have to read Harrison.
G & O= DC Dutta

I was also thinking how to start my studies. Any help would be much appreciated. Should I start with the mcqs or with the text books?

Waiting for ur reply.

Thanx in advance

I was like you. When I had passed my MBBS I did not remember anything from my First MBBS. And had started from zero. Thats the case with many if not most of us. Starting from zero doesnt mean anything. But the proper start means a lot.

For the rules regarding PGIMER Chandigarh and AIIMS for those not clearing MBBS in one go, you should refer to the last year prospectus of these exams.Actually I dont remember exactly the rules regarding this and I would not like to post any false information.

Yes you need to work a lot specially about the books you will read for the preparations. I am summing up the changes in the books' list you posted which you have read till now. That should suffice.
And for further queries do write in here. But do not forget to take the tips from your seniors who have cracked the PG entrance of late. Thats vital.

Anatomy :BDC is enough. IBS should selectively read.
Physiology : Whole bit of Ganong is a must.
Pathology : Keep the Harsha thing in your shelf and start reading Robbins selectively.
FSM: Reddy Synopsis
Surgery: Entire B&L and preferably CSDT
Medicine: Harrison selectively

All the best!

Any help, dada?

Also ZIP CU is full of mistakes, u said. But I have no seniors from whom I can borrow a rectified book. icon_cry.gif So, how can I rectify those mistakes in the book?

Some of my friends are currently giving Bhatia test series. Are they worth giving at this stage? Or is there any better option available?

There is no opportune time for giving test series! In other words, every test series missed is probably a dent. Score what you may low or high but the experience matters at least.

You can correct zip cu yourself. That will need good amount of time and patience. It can be done.
