In periphery u can earn a lot with DCh.U can do DNB if u fail to do MD in paed after DCH.Well iif u consider private hospitals in Metro cities then as far as my knowledge goes u can work as registrar but not as consultant. To work as consultant u need MD /DNB /MRCP in paed..

Yes as far as I know even after non-recognised DCH ,DNB becomes 2 yrs course.

As a registrar you have to look after wards ,assist the consultant in OPD etc.
In private hospitals there is MD and DNB are both of equal value.

After doing a non recognized diploma if u do DNB in that subject then its a 3yrs course and u have to clear the DNB part1 .In case of recognized one its 2 yrs course and u r exempted frm the DNB part 1.

But even if u do a non recognized diplomama and u do DNB in that subject then u get an extra edge in the selection procedure after DNB part1

You could be right Dr.bobo
But also it says on the information sheet :

"Candidates possessing Postgraduate qualification in any speciality (both degree and diploma) recognized by MCI / UNIVERSITIES in any of the Broad specialities will be exempted from the Centralized Entrance Test Examination. They may appear directly for the Final Examination, if otherwise eligible."

So of course a nonrecognized dch is not recognised by the MCI but still is recognized by the WBUHS.And acc. to the above then the candidate is exemted.
Its all very confusing.... icon_exclaim.gif
