Congratulations for passing the exam

can u take 10 min to tell us about ur experience? if u dont mind.
what have u studied?
which books & which websites?
How many months did it take u to prepare?
how was the difficulty of the exam?
were u expecting ur self to pass after u finished the exam?
how did u managed ur time during this long exam with alot of time constraints?

Thank u very much

Best regards

Thanks alot for ur reply captainnemo

Actually this is what I already know about MRCP -2 written (paper was tough .. long threads . too many red herrings ... fortunately less 'n of many ' questions )
I was asking for advices i.e. something practical, ur experience while preparing and after the exam...etc.
I think that will be useful because I want to take the next diet (July) but a bit hesitant to apply for that.

here r a few tips.
1) 123doc is good on images. it has very good images. so it would help to do it.
2) definitely do pastest, not only are the questions similar in themes to the final paper, there were infact 10-12 ques ver batim from pastest. there are about 2000 ques in all. try to do them atleast twice.
3) read up the guidelines publishes by the foll societies.1) BSG,2) BTS,3) BSH.also read up the NICE gudelines, very important.
4) while u write the paper be on lookout for red herrings and other distractants.

do not hesitate to apply for part 2 , just make sure that you attempt all the questions since time is at a premium . and practice as many Q s as u can from diff websites.past test is good but the site is bit slow . I don know about other sites.guidelines as mentioned are very important. after giving the exam it is very difficult to predict whether u will pass or fail coz the Qs are not straight forward. they will test your clinical judgement. if you have clinical experience in a good set-up then it will help

Thanx very much for ur advice (wildoc & captainnemo)
I appreciate it

I already finished pastest website with an overall score 65% (all questions were done under time pressure i.e. 1.5 min for each question)
I passed over most of the relevant guidelines

I dont know y I have a feeling that the exam is totally different.
In part-1 I was more confident & thanx god I scored 73% (passmark was 60%)

Anyway thank u again icon_smile.gif
