Hi:)
I am wondering did anyone had their skill asssessed with AIMS to nominate occupation of medical scientist for skill independent visa?Or with VETASSES to nominate medical administrator as occupation?It seems rather prudent that one gets PR first, but i don`t know if AIMS will accept my diploma of medical doctor for that purpose?Please if anyone has experience with that, join this discussion

I can't advice about VETACESS, but I can tell you about AIMS.

According to DIMIA, AIMS is the accrediting body for medical scientists. But what no one explains is that this is ONLY FOR medical scientists that work in labs, that deal with blood tests, other specimen tests etc.( I had a professor explain this to me)

There is no body for accrediting Medical Scientists not working in medical labs such as epidemiologists, medical statisticians etc.

Thus AIMS is not the official body for Medical Scientists.

Having only a MBBS degree, you will not qualify to sit for the AIMS exam. As you will not have suffient knowledge of laboratory methods, to conduct diagnostic tests.

You may however acquire these skills and sit and then face the AIMS exam
