25 yr old healthy female presents to OPD for travel advice.She is going on a transatlantic flight and wants to know what she can do to prevent PE,one of distant relatives had PE,otherwise she has no family H/O thromboembolic disease and she is not using OCP's.
what do u advise:
1-Plenty of fluids and elastic stocking during flight
2-Aspirin 100 or 300 mg on morning of flight
3-Warfarin 5 mg single dose a day prior to flight
4-Clexane 40mg S/C the day of flight
5-NoNe of above

The answer is plenty of fluids and elastic stockings,hitherto there is no clear recomendation for using pharmacologic treatment for pevention of DVT/PE on air flight
