guys i just wonna make some comments based on my experiance.. as i took mccqe1 last week
1. in the real exam you will discover that no matter how many times you memorized toronto notes , it wont help , as the exam depends only on your clinical judgment and not on how much info from TN are you retaining..

2. having said that you only need around 2 month of preperation , employing through which every single question bank you know (i would reccomond the american ones coz they provide you with good exeplanations especialy USMLEWORLD ) + past qe1 papaers to be orinted
3. dont wait for a long time as you will be in the same setiuation no matter how long is your preparation time

dear cyst , do toronto notes first read pediatrics , obse surgery and Psychiatry , then subscribe for usmleworld for one month and do medecine from UW , coz medecine is to much and noteriously tough in TN .... and then redo obse and Psychiatry and surgery from usmleworld....
IN general USMLEworld will fill the gaps in TN and provide you with tips of concrete thinking in the real exam.....
and listen to kaplan lectures (DVDS) especially cardio and obstetrics and ethics) and it will make cardio your favorate part of the exam iam sure...

go to university of toronto medical library , you will find past practise tests
THEY ARE SOOOO usfefull (do CRS ONLY ), and do the famous 661 questions coz they bring some ... and in general use american preparation to be an oriented physician.... and canadian past papers to stay in the track and be fameliar with topics tested in qe1

this is how i prepaired ........ and iam not sure if it is the ideal way yet...
but generally speaking this way has helped me to be comfortable with the material tested in the real exam... and not to be blown up by any kind of questions

dont over estimate QE1 as it is close to EE in content and even some questions were from EE ,,the way they asked questions was .....
( wat is your diagnosis more than next step in managment , and very few questions about treatment , and all the time it was a very famous treatment (like managment of diverticulitis for eg)

Yo attent the Q1 spring 2008 as me did these questions posted on the forum were the same in the exam.in the exam i get very hard question ever seen for me specially in the LMCCQe as i study them since 1991,i was very depressed

i said specially not speciality, all the previous practice and Mccqe1 exam in the university library but the question were different even i got ped with ethics, Gynae with ethics in the same question
but i didn t understand what they mean by pilot questions
