4. In trigeminal neuralgia there is no symptom of earfullness. Nasopharyngeal and laryngeal carcinomas is not more painful during mastication. TMJ arthritis frequently makes inflammatory swelling of soft tissues of posterior nasal cavity and causes partial obstruction of eustachian tube, ear pain, and pain on mastication at the same time.But the exact mechanism of ear pain in TMJ disorders is not known.
