i donno what made him write that but i think t post by jampin is pathetic!
ENT is a really nice branch...i wud advise pg aspirants not to make career choices depending on negative notions of other people...
i m doin ms ENT n to take it was my own choice...i wud like to use this thread to tell students abt the good points of ENT ...
*its a specialized branch of its own unlike med n gen surg. whr super specialization has become a must,,
*still if u do want to study furthur, u can do that...its limitless
*its a very paying branch in t long run if u r good in ur field...in fact i kno of many ENT surgeons who r earning more than the specialists of other so called paying branches!!!
*ENT is very vast, contrary to popular notions...apart from ear, nose n throat which r also vast in themselves,,nowadays head n neck surgeries r also included in ENT ...so scope is endless!
*ENT is very satisfying professionally,, requiring fine surgical skills n patient satisfaction is also good as almost all t surgeries r curative!
*wit new machines like endoscopes n drills n newer techniques coming, it is really in an advancing stage...the future of ENT is really bright!
*the practioner of ENT can lead a leisurely or a hectic lifestyle depending on his/her own choice
*if sumone is not intrested in surgeries, medical ENT is also an option n u can refer cases 4 surgeries elsewhere
*its no wonder otorhinolaryngology is one of t topmost branches in US...
Its a pity people defame a branch based on half knowledge...
so all t pg aspirants,if u are intrested in a good surgical branch wit lots of scope in future,,do consider ENT as a career.
