Dr Angel,
"MSc in Clinical Embryology" is the name of the course. U need not have a MS/MD Anatomy
for that....just a plain MBBS with a TOEFL
/ IELTS
will do. u get this at three places in the world
1) Oxford University, London, UK...1 Yr, full time n fee is 25000 pounds but u can always try for scholarship but then cost of living there is too high
2) Univ. of Leeds, Hamburgshire, UK...2 courses...1 yr full time n 2 yr part time....little less expensive n cost of living is cheaper..Univ stands at rank 3 in UK....so its good
3) Univ. of Minosh(not sure of the spelling), Australia
...don't have much details of it...guess its 2 yrs
now comes the question of the utility of the degree.Embryology is coming up big time in India in near future, definitely its going to make u stand ahead of others. its more of a research kinda thing but then they teach u things like sperm retrieval, ICSI(intracytolplasmic sperm injection) n so many more things concerned with IVF...believe me...none of the IVF clinic in India has any expertise beyond this but they earn like crazy but then i donno how ornamental an MSc will look on ur board or how far does the Govt recognize an MSc for practice here.....but they can never stop u 'coz u r an MBBS ( i believe).
I have put a lot of head into it....its good for earning n making name, if it ?
but then.....one should remember....Infertility Treatment is a Tripd with three legs....one is the above mentioned which deals with the skills of retrieval and injections n knowledge but then one should not forget about Endocrinological aspects and Corrective Surgeries in the cases of infertility....what will u tell those patients...Sorry! i cannot treat u....that is where the problem lies.
So...i quit.
i am a final Yr MS Anatomy
...thought it big time n then dropped it because according to me, u cannot be different then others till u have hold on all the legs of the tratment rxpg
.
Dr Angel.....u can ask me if u have any other queries...bye
