what is the salary like for fy1 doctor...i know its 21000-24000 pounds but is this after taxes or before...is it standard everywhere in the uk?

its most likely to be around £21000 as the banding system will be almost finished this yr as working hours r suppoed to be 40/wk 4 junior docs bt again that depends on ur rotations n its before tax as far as i know.

after taxes it can be frem 1800-2100...but it still depends on your rotations and the number of on-calls u have...the more the better icon_smile.gif!

Hi there, How are you. I have a couple of questions I hope u don't mid:
1- Does a F1 doctor have Holidays, How long?
2.-I start F1 post in August, what should I be reading, any recomendations, any important books to get to survive F1

Ofcourse f1 have holidays...they are humans aren't they icon_smile.gif
usually there are 28-30 days off a year...but u can only take 2 weeks off in one rotation..so we better plan em beforehand to make use of the full quota fer the working year.

The other thing..you can read oxford handbook for foundation HO's...and any good book fer the foundation trainee will do...

And I suggest you don't exhaust ureself before the 'real work' starts...so enjoy ureself in the mean time!
