@akil... Thanks i m having lenovo 3000 N100... I searched about sasser n wil definatey go 4 it.. Although i m having such a slow gprs connection... Air is coming out of d fan... Everything seems ok there.... I'l first get anti sasser....cud it b due to faulty battery?

It could be due to that too. Try this. Remove the battery and run it as you run it now.

It should run properly as earlier atleast (even if it restarts etc;). Next, get the sasser patch and removal tool and get it cleared. Once that is ruled out we might have to consider hardware issues!

That is fine. It is much better than running with faulty battery!

Just a few safety tips/precautions:

1.a use a good spike buster or a stabilizer for additional protection.
Or
1.b. A UPS if you have one!
1.c. Cheapest option is spike buster with a good fuse. This is mandatory if you have frequent power fluctuations in your area.
2. Also avoid too much power fluctuations in the form of 'power cuts' when the laptop is on since that might lead to some hardware stress and failure at times. Considering this, an UPS might be best option.
3. And it is advisable to get the battery fixed at the earliest.
4. Backup all important data frequently, ideally daily or even twice daily or best whenever you add new data/change old ones.. just to be on safer side.
5. Please do not get alarmed at any/all of the warnings/tips/suggestions I have given earlier. They are given on the 'worst-case-scenario' basis and unless lady luck hates you too much, you will NOT have any issues at all and it will be uneventful most probablyuntil you are able to collect the required amount to replace a new battery!

Tip for laptop users regarding battery:
Try to avoid complete discharging of batteries as much as possible. There is usually a 'power management' option that can be set so that if laptop power is say "15-20%" or backup, it should give a warning and at 10% go into hibernate/sleep/shutdown automatically...These values are arbitrary and one could go with any % in that settings. This will ensure that the batteries are NOT completely discharged and batteries will have longer life if complete discharge is avoided.
