Quick Scroll Statistical softwares- any courses, learning tools? 06.25.08 (2 months ago) #1

Hello everyone,

Statistics is an integral part of research. Knowing the different statistical tools such as STATA, SPSS, SAS, Epi info etc. will, I believe, help us in becoming better researchers and will also improve the quality of analysis of the research. This can also be useful for people going for Master's degree, as it might improve one's chance of securing research assistantships.

I have been searching on the net for courses that teach such statistical softwares, esp through correspondence courses, but failed to find any institutes in India.

The WHO and CDC websites do offer free limited introductory training on Epi Info. But that's it. Nothing about the other softwares. Of course, a researcher does not need to know all of these softwares, but I am personally interested in learning more about them.

If anybody has any information about courses, workshops, seminars, etc. for learning such statistical tools, I will be grateful if they post this information here.

Thanks and regards
