dear doc bedi
as far as us is concerned clinical research field is completely saturated for mbbs doctors as a lot of people who did not get residencies went for clinical research
u will get chance for it only if u finish master degree
whereas in india this field is right now booming with plenty of opportunities

i need ur help. i m a final year mbbs student. i want to get into clinical research the one whose job description includes working in a lab being a scientist. the problem is i have no clue what-so-ever of how to becum a scientist. cud u plz guide me what qualifications shud i get to becum a scientist in nanomedicine or endocrinology research?what courses shud i do to polish my mbbs degree?

welcome to rxpg
what you are looking for is "basic research" which includes working with molecular biio, nanotech etc..
for that you'd need to complete a masters in the field of your choice (such as biotechnology) and after that go for a PhD from a reputed research institute...

They say that clinical research is the next BIG thing.. but I doubt it.
Well, if you really want a career in clinical research, it's better to do a pg in eiter in medicine or pharma, then go for clinical research.........
