hi all

Its probably my first proper post on this forum (Although i have been an active reader for a long time)

I am in 4th Year MBBS, Khyber Medical College, Peshawar. I until recently was thinking about doing FCPS in Ophthalmology but now i am thinking towards giving USMLE as no other foreign exams are worth trying for. I am explaining my plans below and you all please advice me on how effective do you think this is.

I am right now 4 months into my 4th Year (Special Patho and Comm medicine). I am thinking to start prep for Step 1 from now on. My plan is

==============================
-------------STEP 1----------------------------
==============================

July -------> Dec 08

then 2 months serious preps for my 4th year exam

then

Mar ------> June 09 (During Final year)

I intend to give Step 1 in July

==============================
-----------STEP 2------------------------------
==============================

-------------CK--------

In final year alongside the study of Final Year (Clinical Subjects) i will prepare for CK and give it in Mar or April 2010.

-------------CS--------

The preparation of final year practical exams will count towards Clinical Skills preparation. I might give CS in late Sept 2010 and stay in US for sometime and do electives there. If all goes well then i may submit ERAS forms in early November.

Well this was what i think would be the general plan for me. I know this will need a lot of dedication. Before i start following this plan. i want you all to please guide me
