its not just abt yuri gagarin.there r many more.russians no doubt were very advanced.but the scenario has changed.there has been a decline in the standards.a country is not built on the base of warheads.where there is lack of food n other basic amenities corruption is sure 2 flourish.mikhail gorbachov predicted it correctly in perestroika.but the good news is that the latest reports say that Russia is trying 2 build up fast.they hav the ability 2 change their future.lets hope for the best for a race of people who conquered the space.

Quick Scroll Rediculous Indeed!! 10.21.06 (2 years ago) #52

Hello Jen once more,

So I just thought of something, How rediculous indeed to recognize a Medical University all of a sudden and then de-recocognize equally suddenly.Truely the citizens of that country should shout about, lets say in your voice.

And yeah i thought of something else too.Why do i see, just one "Jen something" trying to spread the gospel that eastern european countries are F****(very bad) for medical education when most of the advertisements i see in this Forum and others relating to Russian Med Education route themselves to Malasia.Guess your are the Moses of Malasia, trying to save the medical future of Malasia.Guess what dude, Nobody gives a shit about what you are trying to say,I dont say that-the stats for Malasian students goin to "Eastern Europe" for studying medicine, speak for themselves. Guess all of them should be dumb enough not to listen to a veteran surgeon like you.....or oh Im sorry are you simply a medicine dropout, or just a pessimist.Coz i still dont have your introduction "Jen"

Now how could i forget, U simply seem to adore or may we say totally envious about my ID. Guess what I have a Dr before my name coz i like it that way, and i bet i deserve it after 5 yrs of hard work. If a Doctor of repute have and any reservations about it, I would have surely respected it. You mate, give more interest to your books.

Cheers,
Shashank.

P.S Still searching for the book "infringement to whatever the rule is". I study in Medical University not a law or civil one otherwise i should have had read something like that in my Library "a place where they have books", You wouldnt knw about it, coz you were too busy blasting or as we may say advising other people to save their future, Oh you sacrifing soul of good intents.

Isnt this rediculous of people not to listen to you, I agree full heartedly.

Hi,

I think the medical colleges in Russia are good for the citizens for Russia . But it is unsuitable for Indians. There is no point in exhorting the great legacy of Russia . After all, like India, it too is a country which wallows in it's past glory and refuses to make real democratic and economic progress. Of course, the whole world is proud of Yuri Gagarin and Lenin etc.. But we can't ruin our academic future just because they were the sons of Russia , can we??

It is a well known fact that the FMG entrance test conducted by the Government of India for Indians who did their MBBS elsewhere is considerably tough. I have friends who could not clear it even in their third try. And then, they lose the stamina and enthusiasm to prepare for any merit based post graduate entrance exam.

Many Indians who live there are not able to restrain themselves from many evil habits. They justify it in the name of youth and mirth. But watch their lives crumble in front of our eyes when they return to India, and you will know what I am talking about. Don't you think it is stupid to be battling for your MBBS degree till the age of 27 or 28?? Not to mention the lowly life with a mere MBBS degree after that 'achievement(??)' of getting MBBS!!

And for those who talk of the heavenly bridge that connects Malaysia with Russia , please stop it. There are Indian doctors all over US AND UK. Malaysia speaks neither good English nor do they have a unique language(which borrows heavily form Tamil and English). No offence intended, but let's face the fact.

Whatever, think pal.. There is a lot of difference between motion and progress. A rocking horse is always in motion but is never in progress... like Russia . Strip it's military prowess, and see the gaunt reality that glares at you.

Quick Scroll Hi dear students ! 11.25.07 (12 months ago) #55

We can not compare Russian Education with western european or american ? Since both the areas are difficult to compare economically and quality wise.
Lets compare them on the basis of economy than definately the Russia is far far behind the western governments, but it is a good place for our Middle class people who can afford higher education on less money. Those parents who can not have capability to send there children to USA, europe etc can atleast send them to Russia . So why not Russia ?
Now if you start comparing cheap malaysian, thailand holiday destinations with Las Vegas and Switzerland than which is better everyone knows.
Money brings money in education as well. Just think why we all are attracted towards the USA, Europe ect degrees because they are all recogised among themselves and after completing those degrees you can dream of getting hefty salaries in all those countries.

good day ppl. i'm a nigerian but studied in northern state medical university. i also finished my internship this year in Arhangelsk. i feel i'm an expert when it comes to Russian education and i studied in Russian lang.
To start with, Russian medicine is one of the best, they were the first to perfrom so many operations and of recent they are to first to perform a tracheal transploant, use inert gasses for Anaesthesia e.t.c. And ppl when it comes to practical THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE Russia and i mean it. the patients are ready to work with u if u have a nice smile.
Russia is a country that creates a doctor out of an average student and believe me u don't need to be super brilliant to be a doctor. If u are the very brilliant type why dont u go into genetics or Biochemistry etc. concerning the way some lecturers give out marks, i must say they pity foreigners bcos of the russian lang and thy know thi is a very exotic part of the world not everybody can survive here so they take that into consideration and maybe increase your mark or if u have been doing well previously they might not want to spoil ur record and give u good marks(tell me dat is not nice).
Yes i agree that we have graduates dat might not even correctly label the Anatomy of the lungs not to talk of the physio or even mention the types of antibiotics we use today. Thats the only bad part of Russian edu but as some1 said it still boils down to the individual if u want to work as a doctor then u can get the best here bcos it is a combination of both western eastern and asian medicine. the teachrs are ready, u have full access to all operations, to every history in d hospital, u can meet any patient at anytime of the day. U ARE FREE TO DO WATEVA U WANT which u cant do in europe or US.
For prospective Russian students this is wat i have to say: if u want to bcom a good doctor and u dont have enough money come to Russia . if all u want is just a degree so they can call u doc or just to satisfy ur parents and later go into business, come to Russia .
As u can now see Russia is a place where u can chose to bcom a good doctor or just some1 with a legal med degree. IT ALL DEPENDS ON WAT U AS AN INDIVIDUAL WANT.
