D M - Neurology

Duration Five years in the case of MBBS candidates.Three years in the case of Post-MD degree in General Medicine / Pediatrics.

D M - Neurovirology

Duration 5 years in the case of MBBS candidates & 3 years in the case of Post-MD degree in General Medicine / Pediatrics

D M - NeuroRadiology

Duration 3 Years.
Eligibility MD / DNB in Radiodiagnosis from any University recognized by the Indian Medical Council or any other Qualification declared as equivalent.
Admission Two candidates by direct admission and one by deputation will be admitted to the Course.

M.Ch in Neurosurgery

Duration Five years in the case of MBBS candidates &Three years in the case of Post-MS degree in General Surgery / Orthopedic.

M.D - Psychiatry

Duration 3 Years.
Research Facilities The Department of Psychiatry has a faculty with multifarious interests and offers research facilities in the area of diagnosis and classification of Electro Convulsive Therapy, psychophysiology and neurochemistry. It is also expected that molecular genetic facility will be available in the near future. All the laboratories in the Department are well equipped for promotion of studies involving methods of advanced psychophysiological and neurochemical research like the study of EEG, power spectra, evoked response, poly-somnography, biogenic amine levels in body fluids and assay of neuro hormones.
The Department has close collaboration with Departments of Neurochemistry, Clinical Psychology. Pharmacology and other related Departments in the Institute for further support in the research activities. In addition, the Department has 550 in-patient beds catering to children, adults and geriatric patients with a follow-up range of psychiatric diagnosis and also has daily outpatient clinics for the treatment of new patients and a good follow-up system.

M.Phil - Clinical Pyshcology

Duration 2 Years.
Research Facilities as given under Ph. D. Clinical Psychology.
Eligibility MA / M.Sc. degree in Psychology of a university recognised as equivalent by NIMHANS securing not less than 55% marks in the aggregate of the Master's Degree as a whole.

M.Phil in Psychiatry Social Work

Duration 2 Years.
Research Facilities Research facilities are available. In M.Phil they complete research work through partial fulfillment urging part II of the programme. Eligible candidates are encouraged to Register for Ph.D. Those who join after M.Phil (PSW) are exempted for one year.
Eligibility Master's Degree of Social Work from a University recognised as equivalent by NIMHANS securing not less than 55% marks in the aggregate of the Master's Degree as a whole. Preference will be given to those who have specialized in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work.

M.Phil in NeuroPhysiology

Duration 2 Years.
Research Facilities Research facilities to carry out dissertation work are available in the department. It has well equipped laboratories to carry out research in Cellular neurophysiology, Learning and Memory, Electrophysiology, Neuroanatomy, growth and differentiation of CNS, regeneration and degeneration, brain chemistry, etc.
The laboratory consists of electrophysiology, neuronal unit activity, Morphology, Psychophysiology, Neuronal culture and chemistry to study any brain related problems through neuroanatomical electrophysiological, biochemical and morphological means.

Eligibility MBBS degree or Master's Degree in Life Sciences with not less than 55% marks in the aggregate of the University recognised as equivalent by NIMHANS .

M.Phil in Biophysics

Duration 2 Years.
Programme Study The course has been designed to build up the general background in the major field of Biophysics such as Molecular Biophysics , Membrane Biophysics , Neurobiophysics, Biophysical techniques, Bioenergetics, Medical Biophysics , etc.
In the second year of the course emphasis is given to specialization and research.
The laboratories are well equipped to conduct research on cellular and molecular aspects of nervous system.
Eligibility A candidate who has obtained not less than 55% marks in the Master's degree in Physical / Life Sciences or MBBS or BE from a university recognized as equivalent by NIMHANS .

M.Phil in Speech Language Pathology

Duration 2 Years.
Programme of Study The programme consists of advanced level training in speech language Pathology specifically to enhance the knowledge in aspects of neuropsychiatry as related to speech language Pathology . The emphasis will also be on clinical work, relating to neuro-psychiatric speech language disorders. Students would be posted to different departments at the Institute for learning concepts methods, laboratory and clinical techniques pertaining to their disciplines and as applicable to speech language Pathology .
Eligibility M.Sc. Degree in Speech and Haring from a recognized university or any other Master's degree in speech and hearing recognized as equivalent thereto by NIMHANS and who have secured not less than 55% marks in the aggregate of Master's Degree course.

M.Sc - Psychiatry Nursing

Duration 2 Years.
Exemptions if any A relaxation of 5% on the aggregate of marks obtained will be given for Non Medical and Ph.D. Courses programme in respect of SC & ST candidates.
Eligibility The course is open to those who are Registered Nurses with B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing of a University which is recognised by NIMHANS (Deemed University ) with not less than 60% Aggregate Marks.
Should have a minimum of two years of experience after obtaining B.Sc. /B.Sc.(Hons) Nursing degree in Hospital Nursing Education, Institution or Community Health setting.

Post Doctoral Certificate Course in Neuroanesthesia

Duration 1 Year.
Admission Two candidates by direct admission and two Candidates by deputation will be admitted to the course.
