saw it alone, with the lights switched off. It wasnt as exciting and scary as the novel. The last scene with jack nicholson was so funny, i fell off my bed. The leading lady, forgot the name, irritated the hell out of me.
Read the novel by Stephen King, its the best, the movie is very inferior to the actual Novel. The Novel is 10 times scarier.

NOTHING LIKE IT...

No Horror movie is as horrifying as this one.....

well, incidently i did just that today. It was dark and raining outside today, the cavernous dormitory was deserted and i didn't bother with light switches. But to be frank, i find the movie overrated. Give me the novel anyday over this movie. Novel had many more horror situation and you indeed get goosebumps reading it. Maybe it was because i saw the movie on my mobile phone. Built up was perfect in this movie but the thrill a horror movie audience expect never came. Jack Nicholson and the child actor were good. The music was suspiciously similiar to the one used in a clockwork orange. The best scene for me was when jack peers through the broken bathroom door, that moment is frozen on dvd covers, a classic movie poster up there with the scarface. Can anyone tell me what that funny looking green character in the room with the unidentified man was doing, when wendy goes looking for danny with knife in her hand. It was suspiciously looking like that green creature was giving BJ to the man in room.

No one can beat Japs at horror movie making. Give me dark water over shining anyday
