i'm confused!... during the pysical examination stations do we need to tell the P.E. results to the examiner present in the room right away? or we just concentrate to the SP. not minding the examiner and just wait if the examiner ask us about the P.E.?...i mean concentrating to the SP is telling them the procedure we are about to execute.

Examine the SP as a patient and at the same time keep on telling what u are looking for Eg. while examing the eyes say that there appears tobe no joundice or anemia etc

thank you sai06. so means we just ignore that there is "somebody" inside the room aside from the SP. except if the examiner categorically ask us for a question.

hi rannye ,
how 's preprations going on, when is your exam,
, what ever you do on s.p , you have to tell examiner as well what we are doing or what we are looking for. what i know this is how it works.

thanks smarty! about my preparation i think i still have a lot to develop...specially the communication skill...you know, we maybe good in writing but its different when it's in actual set up...just imagine you are in the station (tensed) you know somebody is watching particularly your wrong moves...maybe we will get out of the track...(i hope we will not) one thing to develop is about stress management! but i know we can make it, we were trained in the medical school about stress maagement...do we?

Totally agree!
You MUST verbalize everyting you are doing and everything you are looking for, otherwise you wont get marks. You have to be gentl eto the SP and at the same time to show the examiner you knoewwhat you are doing. It is hard at first, but practisiong with your collueges etc makes it really easy!

reagrds,
ophtha

I believe that saying something like "Now I need to perform a physical exam on you. During the examination i will report my findings to the examiner" is a very good idea as you do not have to ignore the examiner.
At one of the postencounters probes we had to write a prescription for pneumonia and there was a pharmaceutical vademecum on the table.
