Hi everyone,

This is Carms time! again. Let's use this threat to post all queries regarding Carms 2009 (like last year). This way we can keep track of all information, and save some time.

Good luck to all, and hope this will be your last Carms application.

Cheers,
Voxel

Hi,

I was reading info about some univ FM programs. It says that if u apply to Ontario's programs, u'll have only 1 interview for all the programs even if u applied to more than one!!!????
Can somebody explain this to me?I really can't get it.
Thanks

This means that you'll apply through carms to as many Ontario FM programs as you want, you pay the fee for each and your file will be analysed by a joint commitee. The result will be either you'll be called or not for an interview.
If you are granted an interview, you'll have the chance to chose what medical school you want to go to for the interview. The result of the interview will be then shared between all FM programs in Ontario, that you applied to, and will contribute to your overall score. Based on this overall score, each FM program make its own ranking list. This list will be somehow computed agains your ranking list and on match day you'll see the result.
Hope that helps.

Does anyone know the CV in some of the program's document list refers to carms e-CV, or we need to send a separate CV as well?

Voxel,
That's Carms E-CV ; you don't need to send a separate one

Yes technically you can, and if you know someone in high places or if you're a recent graduate you have a relatively good chance of getting interviews.

Recent graduate from medical school. Scores above 350 are good. Having said that, a lower score doesn't keep you from becoming a resident, and the highest possible score does not guarantee anything.

Good luck
