Quick Scroll post PLAB jobs for non EEA & EU doctors 10.28.08 (2 months ago) #152

Hi,

I would further extend the question of drasjoel..... what about locum and trust grade jobs.... I have seen doctors who were on student visa and even on visitng visa getting locums first and then jobs..... but no one tells the right pathway to how to enter......

It would be highly benificial for all those who have passed PLAB and have GMC registration but belong to non EU & EEA country... Please some one guide.....

I still see a brighter side after GMC registration for non EU & EEA doctors as many jobs still go vacant...

Thanks in advance

Peter

Hi Doctors
actually after reading a lot of information about the situation now in UK,i cant really find a definitive way to start a medical career in Uk..
is it available for imgs to obtain jobs or not?
i know that the comeptition is very high, but the word competition itself means that eventually we will be able to get a job..
another thing is that it is very confusing the status by which we will be able to stay in the uk now,i mean that the first entrance to UK will be via the PLAB visa which is of maximum 6 months, then if succeeded i should start the registration process and apply for a job as a senior houseofficer but then what will be my legal stauts?is it the work permit which i see it will be no longer working after the 28th of November or via applying into the point based system of tier 1 or 2
if anyone can provide help regarding this issue it will be of great value and i am sure its not only for me but for many many doctors who still think of UK as their destination of choice to pursue a successful career in medicine

trust jobs and locums are a different case....ideally they have to find a person with a valid visa but if the employing agency can prove they could not find such a person for the trust job, they may give it to someone else.
