....cont...but my point of debate was this doesnt mean that indians are intellectally mediocre as general, what you commented in your very first post as a point of debate. later on u sifted ur views to cultural and social mediocrity. meanwhile somewhere you commented indirectly that indians are culturally well . here too no one will agree with you that indians are culturally mediocre!

are you still speculating ?or have convinced yourself well with your own views this time. icon_biggrin.gif

hmmm... I'm still not sure icon_biggrin.gif arguing for me is about convincing myself as much as I'm trying to convince you. You don't have to agree with me and vice a versa.

sour grapes tastes good compared to an apple icon_biggrin.gif fun apart same thing again this doesnt mean that we are intellectally mediocre . in your first post you had commented that indian film makers make films mediocre since indian people are intellectually mediocre. i dont find any of your point justifyin that intellectual mediocrity icon_biggrin.gif why they make cheap imitations is again the matter of economy . they try to imitate just because......

...cont....they try to imitate just because they know the indian audience is intellectual enough like the western audience! (this again contradicts your point) but again the economy restricts them even this applies to the yash chopra icon_biggrin.gif

and about not getting nobels and all that, why are you measuring .our. intellect with .their. scales? does all those nobels and oscars need to decide our intellectual capacities? you must be knowing all those biases which prevents us from getting them. so why use those scales??

in short i am against the point that indians are intellectually mediocre in general as compared to westernrs. people in all parts of the world are similar in this issue.
our cultural superiority need not to be questioned.
i agree with you we are economically mediocre.
taste may be influenced by the economy and complexities of life for a timebeing but need not to be correlated with the intellectual capacities on a long term basis . icon_biggrin.gif

.....cont.... one or two examples are already mentioned by you earlier. you must be knowing the hindi phrase 'kharab paani mein kamal khilna' icon_biggrin.gif you can find all those examples associated with it icon_biggrin.gif
about the 2nd statement, you too have quoted in similar way in your first post . and also it will not be a good thing to post such names because they must be known with their works than their personal lifes icon_biggrin.gif
