Quick Scroll Scenario-we missed sesitive punctuations 12.02.07 (10 months ago) #405

I am sure most of us were not mature or aware enough of our aptitude or under parental guidance when we chose ug as mbbs.More people r joing despite reservatn, cut throat competition, increased duration of course and internshp. They all take time to realize things and about themselves. But even aftr finishg ug if one can't decide and take responsibility of one's own life, they should better avoid taking resp of patients' lives. So indecisive people r nowhere, otherwise medicos can be -
those who r in this field for clinical excellence, they should not get bothered by such discussions n go ahead,in case they fail repeatedly on the ray/path of excellence whether indian pg or USMLE etc, only then they should think of parallel streams, instead they should go ahead in their streams to achieve higher degrees.DM cardio to mention r highestly earning ones in india or at least one among them.

Quick Scroll Scenario-we missed important punctuations 12.02.07 (10 months ago) #406

For other ray of life, who by far have realised while completg ug that this field doesnt interest them or suit them, instead of remaing dissatisfied whole of ur life, decide 'at the earliest' to switch over to fields like MBA ,IAS .(Or may b ur not interested in clinical side,so u can straightaway go to paramedical or medical associated careers). Why waste time or linger in out of taste field.U wil still remain 'doc sab' whole ur life.Go do us proud!

Quick Scroll Scenario- 12.02.07 (10 months ago) #407

Then remain those who r yet shaping up their aptitude or are looking for a good life (fcourse with enough earning of money).Out of them, there r people who have parental money of business etc or even a hospital! If ur planng to purchase private seats do go ahead to get the stream of ur choice, but dont buy papers at least!
Then the rest of people,at least devote one whole year to pre pg preparation to try your sweat, guts and luck,u cant know without a whole hearted attempt and by just sittg n thinkg its impossible or even tough.
Now remain those aftr one drop n tryg to cut down their suffergs of life's struggles.Among u,some have missed a bit in the exams or think r capable mentally to attempt once more. They can either study whole yr or do a housejob a few mths.

Quick Scroll Scenario-real question... 12.02.07 (10 months ago) #408

But now for the rest of the people the real question pops up-are u ready to leave this field?
Well firstly,is this the real question? We can have main streams which are clinicals and side streams. So joing these side streams is not the same as 'leaving medicine'.
So out of them if sm1 is good in clinical knowledge and confidence but without a degree,go 4 general practice at a suburb if not rural.I hav seen people even giving biweekly visits to suburban periphery hospitals n earng handsome amount n living in gud city at the same time. or keep trying to obtain a degree either by exams or money u earn-there r options like cps in Maharashtra ,comedk, private diplomas, all reasonable in price n good enough to do private practice.
Those who due to financial reasons or not enough skills, cant b practitioners,u got these paramedical or medical associated careers-
.pharma-as md,MBA ,mph or even mbbs
.genetics-for genetic counselling or for genomics n research
.mph-for who,danida,sida,united states or abroad,pharma companies etc.
.Research associate-with clinical research degree/diploma in pharma or govt researches like through nii/jawarlal nehru univ etc or as junior scientists in org like defence lab.I can b very superficial here.
.pharma companies even require statistician, quality control, data management, medical ethics etc.
.Biotechnology-for researches n development projects etc
.Defence as a captain to start with
.Aerospace medicine
.Sports medicine
.Insurance companies n banks
.Hotels-
know that doctors are required in almost every human establishment whether govt or private.
.Knowledge processing outsourcing
.Organisg companies of cme's
.Telemedicine
.Hospital administration for upcomg medical tourism n corporate hospitals
.Medical transcription-i have met few ppl who no doubt had 2 work too hard but earn 75k per mth n r to b sent 2 america by their companies
.UPSC etc placements in railways n govt establishments-6th pay commission plans a major hike as well.
.GRE -u can even cm back to india-it gets u phd in genetics, clin pharma etc which is valued in india
.I would lik to mention more or sm1 else should contribute as well.
So if u think ur taking a risk in any of these options do knw that risk is even in clinical life where i have seen md paeds n med gettg meagre pays in hospitals n failg to establish practice,n neurosurgs aftr such a long toil struggling 2 get patients. On the contrary we docs can earn our living any time by gp.Most of indians cant spend yrs investing their parental money n also they ultimately cant establish setups soon or easily. So they have 2 earn by jobs n these streams provide job options.

Quick Scroll Scenario-noble cause n life in a nut shell 12.02.07 (10 months ago) #409

People who r arguing for noble cause, know that all para or associated med streams also serve noble cause n few streams r comparable to clinical side of diagnosis n treatment-like research which generates cure to diseases n vaccines etc,n pharma where new drugs or even if only 'drugs' r produced.
Moreover its unjust to ask someone to keep 'suffering' himself n look forward to relieve others' suffering. He should betr realize his own potentials n aptitude n move his own life ahead as well since he already is associated with a real noble profession n all his efforts will eventually lead to betterment of people.
Even if we practically think, doctors are just regarded as a professionals in the society,n mbbs just as a medical graduate.Dont befool urself 'much' agar koi kam nikalte waqt doc sab kahde, its just like one graduation. At least thats what people in pharma see as a job profile,in politics see when they base the selections on reservations instead of 'noble performance' in exams. One of my batchmates was very poor n paid full fees of 12k per yr cz he was in general cat n other guy who ws rich son of a doc paid nominal cz sc.Thats what health policies see us as when in eye etc camps, treatment checkup is all free(doctor is not there 4 his ad as well) but lemon juice pouch is for 4 rupees.
N thats what society thinks where CPA is applied to this profession. We are left 2 this practical situation by few of our colleagues who did unethical acts.So lets get real. These jobs are existing for 'medical professinals'.
Now comes the punctuation of money-earng money is must even for a paanwala, right? So real people do undrstand 'need of money' and comfort in their n their family's lives.Aftrall its all the matter of life n not just the profession-we need a balance of everythg. These situations of lacks n risk takings r ours dear colleagues, when we fall to dust our future generations will b worried 4 other thgs-which might b there cz of our efforts. So dont get narrow any moment.
So wht i see,is eng earng right now but reachg a platue,n we earng aftr say 10 yrs in clinical side but without a limit. With parallel streams like MNCs,we start earng same packages.Which way will u go?
Here is my assertion,we have an added advantage of this field n while earng in a company,at appropriate time ,go 4 some private clinical diploma n look for practice. At least u wil b doin that course with ur own money instead of giving pains to ur old parents like now.Earn by your own medley of streams.
In a nutshell, study medical sciences whole heartedly as this will count in ur career doc! when there is right time like durg ur drop yr;n never stop lookg for optns-in clinical side, look 4 higher degree n cme and in parallel stream look for relevant field.
