i am in my third year of med school in china. i really dont understand what is going on here ....i agree that fmgs should sit for the test but so should indian graduates....excluding indian graduates from the exam will create problems of superiorty complexe.....the government should be fair ....all should be judged if they have to be judged......eg. all have to give USMLE where they are studying in the US or are from other countries.....BE FAIR !!!

There was a news article about 6 months ago, in India, where the Union Health Minister, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, mentioned that the govt. was considering introducing the FMGE for Indian graduates too. But with politics, you never know.

the thing is that the test has been made for all FMGE 's barring two colleges in nepal n one or two here n there.......wot i want to ask is wot was so exceptional abt those colleges?there are students who are FMGEs n are at par with their indian counterparts from other places too.....sum better too....
to say that jst because we dnt secure a seat in the PMTs n so we are dumb is not fair......the number of applicants for MBBS is going up day by day....but there has been no increase in the number of seats......so hw many can actually get in at one go?what do the hopefuls do?there has to be sum way out.......

Actually the thing is that the educational system in India is chaotic and especially in the developed states like Gujarat . it is more primitive and as a matter of fact, there is also ever increasing reservation scandals every damn year and then the number of seats for gen people goes decreasing all the time.

most of guys over here i think enjoying bashing people around .... well tell me one thing ... we are not exactly foreign nationals .. we are very much indian as u guys are ... all those road blocks are specifically made to barr an overflux of foreign talent in their own countries . having money is not a crime . if india has such great facilities, tell me o thou wise indian graduates , how many docs per thousand people in india , how many beds , how many of u guys are working in a medical center in some village , well dont boast about ueselves so much .

guys be rational and considerate like true docs . instead of creating a atmosphere of pseudo competitiveness u can actually help INDIAN FMGE 's, by giving guidance and much needed moral support like some of u are . If we truly need to improve the health care scenario ..we need to talk with each other not at each other. and as far as quality is concerned , its a continues process ..as doctors improve each day . and medicine is like cricket , not golf , it needs team effort , any well versed clinician will agree

Quick Scroll milestones achieved by brilliant indian doctors!! 10.29.07 (8 months ago) #159

foreign medical students are not up to mark....thats what the docotrs who studied in india have to say!! i agree with u guys....as we pple have not reached those milestones which u pple have reached and we feel so proud of u pple!!!
1. AIIMS - surgeon left towel in abdomen after Sx.
2. AIIMS - surgeon left screw in a cardiac Sx.
3. himachel - doctor treating for RA prescribes omeprazole!!
4. a delhi based doctor tranfused blood from a twin to other to make both of them brilliant!!
and a big list to go!!
we pple ddnt enjoy our life. if u guys have guts why dont u guys undertake the screening test once and knw what it is like!! in USA all the students have to clear the USMLE to start their jobs. i think the indian government shud aslo do the same thing and then we will see who knows what!
rahi baat ki we guys ddnt get the pmt here! so tell me are how many indian student are studying based on merit??? there r guys who scored 50% in their 12th and paid 20 - 30 lakhs for their seats in medical colleges and know not even a single word of medicine!! are they better than the quaks??
i am not here to criticise...i really got sad after reading the comments u guys have posted!! we all r docotrs and we shud unite to help each other and move forward!! we both have our positives and negatives.
there are so many problems in india to be thought of and discussed and not our profession!! so guys think about it!! icon_smile.gif
