Quick Scroll 08.20.07 (11 months ago) #28

hey thanks for soooo many ideas on how to crack pharm... but wud like a tried n tested way to do it..... all ppl say kdt is enough but to be frank i dont like it at all... no doubt majority questions will be from it only ... n i will have to read kdt only (not gonna read a totally new book now...well atleast not the textbooks)...

i prepared using across pharmac ... quite good explainations ... to the point but sometimes dont live up to the question asked... havent been able to read aa ... its explaination seemed quite good.

can some1 write an article like the one on harrison (read harrison efficiently) or atleast provide some list of high yield topics from pharmac like of meds. that wud be a great favor....

JUST A HUMBLE REQUEST BY A TROUBLED COLLEGUE WHO SHARES A PROBLEM MANY MUST BE FACING ...

icon_wink.gif hope some1 can help me out

Quick Scroll ANTE OR RETRO 10.19.07 (9 months ago) #29

When you study ante: it takes a lot of time and you are not aware of the important topics that can be asked in the exams. But this type of study makes your basics very clear and you get a videographic memory of the various topics.
on the other hand RETROGRADE study has the advantage of completion in less time and there are less chances of missing the previously asked questions. But by retrograde study there are high chances that the new questions will be missed.

TO OVERCOME THE DISADVANTAGES OF THE TWO STUDIES AND TO COMBINE THE ADVANTAGES OF ANTEGRADE AND RETROGRADE STUDIES, WE HAVE WRITTEN A BOOK " REVIEW OF Pharmacology , BY DR. GOBIND RAI GARG AND DR. SPARSH GUPTA, PULSE PUBLICATIONS."
if you got time, go through this book. you can know by yourself. in addition 5 important chapters have been added in this book. these are
chapter on new drugs
chapter on adverse effects of the drugs
chapter related to drug of choice
chapter on recent topics (like anti-obesity drugs) that being increasing asked in the exams
chapter on the solved papers of the AI and AIIMS (latest)
