Firstly congrats for being a part of coverted service in india. I am chandrasekhar vengala from banglaore. i am working in Mindtree as S.E. R&D Department. I ve appeared for CSE-2004 for could not clear prelims. i am planinning to have a second go. i am preparing for CSE-2007. Because of GS i could not clear my prelims in 2004. My optinal for prelims was Pub. Administration. Now also i am taking Pub. Ad. as Optional. i ve no problem with the optional...

In this regard i ve two issues:

1. In GS, wat is the average marks range one has to be in for clearing prelims?

2. In India Year Book wat are the important chapters i ve to cover. Since
tat is a very bulgy one i am asking for important concepts to cover in it

It would be a great help for me if u can resolve above two issues

I think a medico can opt for med sci,its a safe optional for mains u can score arnd 320 wth avg attempt and 380 with brilliant performance,only thing u need to be aware of is the mains date sheet
Dont take any optional wch falls vth in 1/2 days of Med Sci mains
Psycho ia another good optional
Zoology,geography can also be taken if u dont wanna take ned sci
