site : 1cm below & slightly medial to tibial tuberosity

age : < 5yrs

time limit : shud not be left behind for > 6hrs for fear of infection

but bolus administration of fluid initially thru this route can facilitate placement of infusion needle in periphery"

preferred site is proximal tibia

bone in this infusion technique acts as an incollapsible vein
