"From all indications, a shortage of radiologists in the United States appears to be inevitable in both the near and the long term."

The Royal college of Radiologists
"The massive growth in applications of radiological imaging and image guided treatments has resulted in a worldwide shortage of trained radiologists. The Royal College of Radiologists and the Department of Health have responded to the demand for increased radiologist numbers by increasing training opportunities, most recently by the introduction of the Integrated Training Initiative and the establishment of Radiological Academies at three training centres."

"The good news for potential applicants (and the unfortunate reality for practising radiologists) is that most departments of radiology are understaffed. Vacancies for consultants can be found in many departments throughout the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom has about 1500 consultant radiologists. The Royal College of Radiologists estimates that it would take a total of 3000 to staff satisfactorily the nation's imaging requirements for a 9 to 5 working day. If a round the clock, 24 hours a day service becomes a reality, then 6000 radiologists will be necessary. So there is no shortage of career opportunities."

Teleradiology increases the efficiency of the radiologist by ensuring that he/she spends the most part of his/her time delivering quality care to the maximum number of patients.
One radiologist based in one location can simultaneously provide services to several hospitals in multiple different locations.

India has the primary advantage of having an optimal time advantage with the US in terms of providing emergency night shift services to the US hospitals.
Other essential advantages that India possesses include a high-technology infrastructure base, skilled manpower and a lower cost of living.

I am not a teleradiologist. I have just posted what I have read.
Manipal Hospitals in Banglore do provide teleradiology services to some hospitals in the US.

This data is to help people make decisions and encourage them... and would not help anyone to get into Radiology.
