just had a thought...wont changing the curvature of cornea change the axial length?!!
like if cornea ia flatter, the lngth is short and if there is mor curvature, the lngth is long..........

give me ur inputs regarding this...

I dnt think that curvature of cornea wud have any significant effect on lenght of eyeball. Otherwise procedures like lasik wud always change d length of eyeball. Still its an open question..

ever haunting q ... consulted a friend who is doin ophthal.... and thesis is on refractive errors.... ans from him was axial lenght

If u say it axial lenght, then why, in conditions which affect the curvature of hte cornea, like keratoconus there is high myopia??

because in keratoconus, due to the characteristic appearance of cornea, the axial length is increased....and hence myopia.....
