Dear all,
I am a medical oncology student doing my DM
in oncology from India. I had applied for a specialist oncology AON post in Australia
was interviewed on phone in June and was called for a face to face interview in October and my whole trip was sponsered by the hospital in Australia
.
If anyone has queries on how to apply for AON specialist post please dont hesitate to ask me.
All the best
Abhishek.

hi dr_ajoshi,
I'm a MD(Psych) with one yr SR experience from a reputed institute in india. Can you kindly give me some details about the following:
Do I need 5yrs of experience(including 3yrs MD training period) to be elligible for application to specialist post?
Whether they recommended further training/supervised clinical practice.
Which will be better -to contact recruitment agencies/concerned hospitals.
Were you exempted from IELT or any other english language test?
What is your personal opinion about the likely job situation in the next few yrs?
thanking you in anticipation,
gobcee.

Dear Gobcee,
No I dont think you require 5 years, post MD is sufficient. Additional training or supervision depends upon the authority\hospital which interviews you. As for me I was asked just to clear my DM
exam and fax them the marksheet. No I am not exempted from IELTS
and shall appear in the exam. Future for docs in aus in gr8.
all the best
ajoshi.
