what harry says is.........M. leprae remains one of the few bacterial species that still has not been cultivated on artificial medium or tissue culture. The multiplication of M. leprae in mouse footpads (albeit limited, with a doubling time of ~2 weeks) has provided a means to evaluate antimicrobial agents, monitor clinical trials, and screen vaccines. M. leprae grows best in cooler tissues (the skin, peripheral nerves, anterior chamber of the eye, upper respiratory tract, and testes), sparing warmer areas of the skin (the axilla, groin, scalp, and midline of the back).
it has not talked even abt armadillos.....but dont know abt micro buks...

i would go with foot pad of mouse because micro ananthanarayanan says mycobacterium leprae would cause similar symptoms as in humans but foot pad of mouse is used to culture the organism
micro ananthanarayanan 5 th edition page 343
" there have been many attempts to transmit leprosy to experimental animals. However, the real breakthrough was the discovery by sheprd [1960] that lepra bacilli could multiply in the foot pad of mouse kept at low temperratures 20 deg C. this observation has been confirmed and has become the standard procedure for experimental work with the bacillus."
harrison also says foot pad of mouse i would go with footpad of mouse

hari says
Although it was the first bacterium to be etiologically associated with human disease, M. leprae remains one of the few bacterial species that still has not been cultivated on artificial medium or tissue culture. The multiplication of M. leprae in mouse footpads (albeit limited, with a doubling time of ~2 weeks) has provided a means to evaluate antimicrobial agents, monitor clinical trials, and screen vaccines. M. leprae grows best in cooler tissues (the skin, peripheral nerves, anterior chamber of the eye, upper respiratory tract, and testes), sparing warmer areas of the skin (the axilla, groin, scalp, and midline of the back
so it looks like MOUSE FOOT PAD
