since i have read some where that ascending platatine artery is located in the base of the tonsillar fossa.....

doesn't it get damaged in tonsillectomy....pls....guide me....

most common cause of bleeding is from injury to paratonsillar vien
is that same as palatine vien....?
regarding artrey less chance of damage...so i will also go with vein answer

answer should be internal carotid artery

cause of excessive bleeding from tonsillar fossa is aberrant internal carotid artery
also large tonsillar branch of facial artery may also lead to excessive hge
ref scott brown 6th edition vol-5 , 5/11/32.
