hi docpsyche. u r correct, biochem is a maddening subject in itself, and i feel if i sit to undersatnd and retain harper, i wud be prepared with only one subject for cet. i had tried reading harper too, but gave up. lippincott is a very nice book, simple language, easy to read and retain, lots of charts and figures. u can finish it off in a qweeks time.
had also asked some of my biochem profs abt which book to follow, they said it doesnt make a diff, harper, lippincott and satyanarayan are all equally good. just that sumtimes u wud need harper for sum references which u might not find in lippicott.
sarp tumors is also an excellent book. has been recommended by our seniors here at rxpg itself

SARP i.e skin anesth radio psy book is ofcourse an absolute must. besides i found micro and pharmac to be nice. however, we must always refer standard tbks for any doubt in sarp cos there are a number of mistakes in it.
happy studying. icon_smile.gif

lol icon_biggrin.gif doc psyche ur questions make me feel like im an expert at giving tips.
i suppose u have heard of tehelka, it covers anat physio biochem and Forensic . it has all india, AIIMS , pgi and other misc questions with explanations. divided into old trend and recent trend questions, its a book worth reading. covers substantial amt of physio. u just need to look up a few references from ganong.
i thought renal and resp are must read topics from ganong. its difficult to read the entire book at this stage unless u have gone thru it before. and believe me just reading the entire text (without knowing what to focus on, and without revising) gives u zero benefit. so solve as many mcqs as u can from whatever question bank u r referring and then go thru most repeated topics from ganong.
however, questions ARE taken directly from ganong ( i think harshadbhai has mentioned this earlier) so if u think u can read AND RETAIN the entire tbk, that wud be best.
all the best, happy studying icon_smile.gif

Hello drpls,
Good rank 714 in state..
so what were u doing from jan to oct this year ?
studies? Then u need not worry with this rank + an years study..

everybody is doing mk , ag and aaa ..
some over enthu ppl trying pgi past papers for an extra edge against
aipg.

and u cant ignore the importance of text book reading. if u have read it earlier u can skate on the underlined tracks, otherwise u cant waste the time trying to tame the books now.

If u have notes, it will be quite handy to revise.. and hard to forget.

What methods u adapting for tackling Maharashtra state exam particularly?
