Hi nauti! You may find an idea about the prospect of MPH in my recent post “An alternative career” in this forum. This alternative career is public health and the MPH is a very good degree for establishing in this field. Infact MPH following MBBS is the standard and optimum academic credential required by the most of the organizations in this field. I am from Bangladesh, don’t know specifically about Indian institutes offering the degree. Usually the National public health institute of a country offer it, you can contact the same in your country.

There is a Good Scope for MBBS,MPH both in India and Abroad.

After MPH you can also do PHD or DrPH abroad.

The Public Health boom has already begun...

With the advent of PHFI, around 4-5 national institutes of Public Health (providing 2 yrMPH and 1yrDPH) will be coming up shortly..

In the meanwhile, Pune University has modified one of its courses to MPH and also JNU has converted its M.C.H.(Masters In Community Health) to MPH

NICD also started MPH last year..

IsquareIT Pune has MPH in Health Informatics..

However there is only 1 MCI recognized MPH in India at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute, Trivandrum (ministry of sciences & Technology, Govt Of India)

This Is Just The Beginning!

I couldnt stop myself for replying u,I am doing MPH from PGIMER ,Chandigarh .Its nice that u r interested in MPH.its good and emerging field and we r, while doing MPH, r being exposed to number of community based, environment related health issues,that need to be tackled.Personaly I am feeling great to be a part of the emerging dimension of community medicine that is sure to rock the world in near future.Its my perspective.
