rajponn I have no idea about india but...

chlamidial cultures are very hard to make. diagnosis of chlamidia is quite expensive

in western countries dx of chlamidia is more common because they spend money and make chlamidial cultures.

diagnosis of gonorrhea is more common in eastern countries. (easy to culture, easy to diagnose)

actually these organisms are quite good friends and usually they act together( coinfection)

I sent a post in this thread earlier but I cant see it ,, can someone tell me why?? ( I got points for it though)…

I agree with ‘ads’ in that its is difficult and expensive to culture Chlamydia (and it is useless) . And also that gonorrhea and Chlamydia mostly occur as co infections.

That is why treatment for gonorrhea almost always should also include drugs to eradicate Chlamydia infection. (Confirmed diagnose of Chlamydia based on lab diagnose is made using ELISA, PCR and also DFA to some extent.).

Moreover , PID in women (pelvic inflammatory disease, comprising endometritis, salphingitis and in later cases also peritonitis. ) in Chlamydia is asymptomatic in most cases. And the asymptomatic cases have more “dangerous” or rather serious sequels. (fallopian tube scarring and permanent infertility, for example).

But still I would like to know the correct/exact answer to ur question. Did u find such a question somewhere,, lazybonezzz??

of the two options provided, chlamydia is more common, given on page 266 of latest park,,, also, point to note is that max incidence is of trichomoniases, which is otherwise less os public health importance.
