Quick Scroll clear the air,sum1!! 03.05.06 (2 years ago) #3

well..let me ask again in another way..
this is what i heard from sum1: its hard to get a match in the states of US which r situated on the west coast.well, the reason given being that our(indian or others except their own)education in med. is not upto their required criteria. so i really want to know these criteria, if sum1 knows abt it..coz that ways by fulfilling those criteria, we might increase our chances of more matches n calls.. n who doesnt want to live in a place like california?huh? icon_smile.gif

thanks shardul ...i did find quite a few interesting things in the links u mentioned..some of them being..:-
1.that its not necessary to have a USCE in many residency programs..but all of them wd. definitely prefer sum1 wid it..
2.moreover,observership accounts as almost negligible.. u shd have hands-on experience..

Quick Scroll well............... 03.08.06 (2 years ago) #8

just s few points for you.......

1. dont rely on fmg america.any one who konws a thin or 2 bout residency will tell u tht its a phoney.........nonsene organisation & so are their lists.

2. yes.....usce is preferable.but not essential.

3. externship is counted more compared to observership.but most imgs manage to get observership/research position/med. assisstanship.....tht those arent tht bad to be dis-counted altogether.

4. one query for u guys.......does any one konw on wat visa do the IMGs do their USCE?? are they allowed to do it on B1/2 visitor"s visa?? r thr any visa issues??

thnx

adios!
