Ob/Gyn & Ophtha roughly follow the pattern :-

Lucknow best > Kanpur > Allahabad > Agra >Meerut > Gorakhpur > Jhansi .

Gorakhpur / Jhansi are non-recognised . So do some checking up before joining . Pay's approx. 17,000 icon_smile.gif . In the first 3 medical colleges , There's good amount of name n fame & rural patients (on whom u can experiment ) .

If u r a girl n taking up Ob/Gyn in Kanpur , I wud recommend u 2 talk with sum senior 1st 'cos there's some rumors about the H-O-D of Kanpur Gyn regarding a moral issue i won't like 2 mention here . (They are rumors but then they might be true.....)

my one frn doing pg frm there says jhansi has very gud Gynae & Obs ...regarding clinical exposure,,, but u need to hard working & commited, & pay is good too..

last yrs 3 JRS out of all got senior residency in delhi in first go...so dats remarkable...

i'm sorry..donno 'bout ophtha!!!!!!
