Tomchi,
download dot com offers 72 free chess games!
As posting links to commercial sites is a TOS violation here, i cant post the link..
But i will tell you how to get there
 Go to download dot com
search in it with "chess" as key word
It will display 187 chess softwares..
You will see a "Filter by" box
in it select "free" & click "filter"
Then a list of 72 free chess softwares will come..
Play them all for free..

wikimapia dot org offers same maps as google earth offers.
To run wikimapia, there is no need to install any softwares, but the RAM of your PC should be about 256MB. Its less sophisticated than google earth but both of them use the same aerial imagery.
MSN Virtual Earth is a new release by microsoft. But i havent used it yet..
For using any of these apps, a broadband connection is a must, otherwise it is gonna take a lot of time!

try kuma games online..
requirements
120 mb external graphics card
512 mb ram
compatible soundcard
broadband connection..
windows xp or higher.
it's free game site...
enjoy........

most racing games are gamepad compatible and so are most role playing / action games...
try the Need for Speed series, the Hulk, spiderman series, moto GP series, Fifa series, ...

try gamershell,gamespot like....sites to download
demo version of games...after that if you like it
you may buy the full version...
buying a game just after reading review...or advertisement...is foolish...
you can't judge a game until you play it...
***hayyyyyyyyyyy if you are UT2003 fan & wanna play it on gamepad.....just download it's patch file....
search on net to how to play UT2003 on gamepad...
after some correction...in the ini. file ..
you could play this game on gamepad....it's really nice
experience to play it on game pad...
@viking.....hay viking i m not a newbie in games..
you r talking to king of games.....the above games r compatible with gamepad i know....
tell me list of action games compatible with gamepad...e.x the most popular pc game doom 3 is not compatible with gamepad....
in some action games we could make it play on gamepad...after some correction in .ini file....
if you have some secret to share do tell me

i know the software for ps1 ...
try ps2 software also.....
after downloading it ...it seems it is not free...
