AS FAR AS I UNDERSTAND, APPROX. 37% AI SEATS LEFT BY AI RANKERS GO TO STATES.A SECOND COUNSELING IMPLIES ALL AI SEATS WUD BE TAKEN UP BY AI RANKERS.

what exactly is 2nd round counselling?

isn't it for ai seats that're deserted by the rankers during state counselling on getting a better option in state quota?
so those seats will be available to state rankers only thru higher option in which only lady luck and ur intuition will help u,what can u predict with available option of any two subjs in any 2 colleges????

my god!
perhaps ayamrd,tulip and vimoj can understand,what i went thru these days.
sending faxes and rank letters.....motivating pumpkins to fax.....13th,i thought it was the end of the turmoil.....
But with the current scenario of second counselling i think state rankers,especially from 50+ are in trouble.
these are the ones who are benefitted by lapsed all india seats.
remember the contribution to all india is 50% of total seats.
if after the first round of aipg counseling,a state counseling,followed by a 2nd aipg counseling is proposed,it may take around 3 months.
haven't we faxed our plight reg: our course lag,DM ,MCh ,fellowship etc...?
can amit and co give a word that with multiple hearings,there is DEFINITELY NO LAG COMING UP?
is it going to benefit state rankers in any way? no...
if you could have got surgery at rank X,last year,this time,it may be X minus 50 or so...
but AIPGE rankers are benefitted.what rank 340 had got last year will safely rest in the hands of rank 430 now.
it can be beneficial to some,but not to others...
any way,there is gonna be a lag for sure.

In 2005 aipg there was about 40% seats vacated after allotment in first counseling,as 40% of guys did not join.these seats went to states.so state rankers were benefitted.

now,some delhi friends are planning to file a case to conduct a 2nd counseling after 1st round ,so that vacant seats can be filled by AIPGE rankers.
according to them-first round ai counseling->1st round kerala->2nd round ai->2nd round kerala.

ppl in waiting list who cannot get a good seat in the first counseling may get diploma at least in second counseling.BUT,state rankers waiting for lapsed all india seats have no choice.

the whole chain of events may take around 3 months,with multiple hearings,definitely,there is gonna be a lag,THIS BOTHERS ME MUCH.

i feel my plight was exploited as fax,in the name of course delayDM,MCh ...blah...blah...,when they actually knew they are gonna turn against state rankers,at a later date.

personally,i am unable to support a state ranker or all india ranker because i have close friends here in RXPG who are gonna be affected,whatever be the verdict.

2nd round counselling either all india or statewise,is going to bebefit mostly people with ranks above 1000 in AIPGE and those above 50-60 in state entrance.I dont think that given both my state and AIPGE ranks, I'm going to be much affected. esp since no one is going to just throw away a MD paed seat in kerala.

If there is second counselling at AIPGE level, we will be the state most benefitted..we offer the least number of seats to the all india pool,and in turn we have a relatively large number of people who get thru AIPGE .Most people from kerala are dependent on the all india quota.
It will be states like Maharashtra and Gujarat which are going to be sufferers.

ayam,if out of the top 35 ranks,if 10 ppl join via state quota,in spite of having a good aipg rank,isn't it true that the cut off for pg seats via state quota wud recede?but obviously 10 vacant seats would be filled by an AIPGE candidate from any other state or so?
i'll giv an eg:
if rank 250 (state) cud have got surg in 2005,cudn't that be due to carry over of ai seats left vacant in first counseling?imagine if its a lady who leaves a surgery seat(ai ranker).

and what about the delay in courses.....

that generally doesnt happen-generally all india counselling is held before kerala entr counselling-so those who have good ranks in all india join thru that itself.
till 2004, kerala entr exam also was held only after all india counselling!!
anyway as i said 2nd counselling is of benefit only to the lower ranks.

and as far as i know very few people from other states come to kerala via all india quota cos there are many high rankers amongst malayalees.
anyway its of benefit to us all if AI seats are also filled up by kerala rankers- all cut offs will go be higher

i literally ran away from aipg forum.those guys are talking bout heavy topics-THE RIGHT OF ALL INDIA RANKERS TO FILL THEIR SEATS TO 100%...blah...blah....
