WHERE THY ARE AVAILABLE?
ENTRANCE IF ANY?
DURATION ?
AND IS IT A MUST?

Hi,
I joined for MS Ophthal this year.I am from Kerala.Out here,according to seniors,its better to go for a fellowship after MS,so as to get more experience in the various surgeries.Also,it has its advantages as far as job prospects are concerned.Out here,Fresh MS candidates dont have much scope.Its anyway better to go for a fellowship.As for the way to apply,I am not sure.Will post details as soon as get any.Here,candidates usually opt Arvind Eye Institute,Madurai(Tamil Nadu) for doing their fellowship.L.V.Prasad Eye Institute,Hyderabad,is also a premier institute.Will post further details asap.

Sorry,no forther news to forward so far.But the search is on.Well,I'm trying to get accustomed to a lot of things out here.Now,dont you tell me that you are already adept at picking out fundus findings.My seniors have assured me that it will take some time to be adept at it .In the meanwhile,keep on working at it.

OPHTHAL NEEDS LOTS OF ADAPTATION.IT LOOKS SO SMALL AND EASY BUT WHEN GIVEN TO DO YOURSELF,U COME TO KNOW WHAT IT IS !
PERIBULBAR BLOCKS I GIVE LEAD TO CONJUCTIVAL CHEMOSIS OFTEN.
IT TOOKS 20 MINUTES FOR ME TO GIVE TWO STITCHES WITH 8-0 SUTURE TODAY.
AND THE LIST IS ENDLESS.
AND I HOPE I WILL MASTER THEM ONE DAY!
I AM ENJOYING OPHTHAL.

i have just cleared comedk with 231 rank. 
hav got to know that success in private practice in ophtho dep on where u settle in future n no. of ophthalmologists there... and earning name n money takes a lot of time.. is it true? 
in my case, am not sure of my place of settlement and also of financial aid after completing MS ophtho... can anyone tell me in such a case, is it worth for girls to take ophtho seat in comedk?

today got a lot of rapping from my lecturers on studies....
So instead of OFFBEAT im in Ophthal forum.........
i have seen 3 MS candidates from KEM mumbai doing Fellowship in Retina and Fellowship in Cornea respectively at AARVIND eye institute.....
Im not sure of how u get in and the procedures etc....
but tats a starting info of sorts...
will let u know asap.....
